EPISTLE – Apocalypse 7:2-12
In diebus illis: Ecce ego Joannes vidi alterum Angelum ascendentum ab ortu solis haventem signum Dei vivi: et clamavit voce magna quatuor Angelis, quibus datum est nocere terrae et mari, dicens: Nolite nocere terrae, et mari, neque arboribus, quoadusque signemus servos Dei notsri in frontibus servos Dei nostri in fronttibus eorum. Et audivi numerum signatorum centum quadraginta quatuor millia signati, ex omni tribu filorum Israel. Ex tribu Juda duodecim millia signatai. Ex tribu Ruben duodecim millia signati. Ex tribu Gad duocedecim millia signati. Ex tribu Aser duodecim millia signati. Ex tribu
Nephtali duodecim millia signati. Deum, dicentes: Amen.Benedictio, et claritas, et sapientia, et gratiarum actio, honor et virtus, et fortitudo Deo nostro in sacula saeculorum. Amen.
In those days, behold, I, John, saw another Angel ascending from the rising of the sun, having the sign of the living God. And he cried with a loud voice to the four Angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea, saying, Hurt not the earth nor the sea, nor the trees, till we sign the servants of our God in their foreheads. And I heard the number of them that were signed: a hundred and forty-four thousand were signed out of every tribe of the children of Israel. Of the tribe of Juda were twelve thousand signed: of the tribe of Ruben twelve thousand signed: of the tribe of Gad twelve thousand signed: of the tribe of Aser twelve thousand signed: of the tribe of Nephthali twelve thousand signed: of the tribe of Manasses twelve thousand signed: of the tribe of Simeon twelve thousand signed: of the tribe of Levi twelve thousand signed: of the tribe of Issachar twelve thousand signed: of the tribe of Zabulon twelve thousand signed: of the tribe of Joseph twelve thousand signed: of the tribe of Benjamin twelve thousand signed. After this, I saw a great multitude which no man could number, of all nations, and tribes, and peoples, and tongues, standing before the throne and in sight of the Lamb. And all the Angels stood round about the throne, and the ancients, and the four living creatures; and they fell down before the throne upon their faces, and adored God, saying, Amen. Benediction, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, honor, and power, strength to our God for ever and ever. Amen.
GRADUAL – PS. 33:10, 11
Timete Dominum omnes Sancti ejus: quoniam nihil deest timentibus eum. Inquirentes autem Dominum, non deficient omni bono.
Fear the Lord, all ye His Saints: for there is no want to them that fear Him. But they that seek the Lord shall not be deprived of any good.
ALLELUIA – Mt. 11:28
Alleluia, alleluia. Alleluia.
Alleluia, alleluia. Come to Me all you that labor and are heavy laden, and I will refresh you. Alleluia.
GOSPEL – Mt. 5:1-12
Nolite ergo timere miltis passeribus pluris estis vos. Dico autem vobisL omnis quicumque confessus fuerit me coram hominibus, et Filius hominis confitebitur illum coram Angelis Dei.
At that time, Jesus siad to His disciples: Beware ye of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy. For there is nothing covered that shall not be revealed: nor hidden that shall not be known. For whatsoever things you have spoken in darkness shall be published in the light: and that which you have spoken in the ear in the chambers shall be preached on the housetops. And I say to you, My friends: Be not afraid of them who kill the body and after that have no more that they can do. But I will show you Whom you shall fear: Fear ye Him Who, after He hath killed, hath power to cast into hell. Yea, I say to you Fear Him. Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God? Yea, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: you are of more value than many sparrows. And I say to you: whosoever shall confess Me before men, him shall the Son of man also confess before the Angels of God.

The souls of the just are in the hand of God, and the torment of malice shall not touch them: in the sight of the unwise they seemed.
